Aside from Arnold Schwarzenegger in the movie Junior, sea horses are the only species in which the male is pregnant with the young.
When courting, sea horses often grab the same sea grass frond with their tails and dance around it, which is, I think, how Arnold snagged Maria Schriver.
I think that’s all they have in common.
There are sea horses on her dress. I need to make a dress like that. Sea grass arms down to the whale, which is mostly what I was thinking about when I did this drawing. A trip to the coast with a friend, we walked along the shore and came across a beached whale, a young female, whose intestines were spilled onto the sand, her skin scattered in piles around us. The fire & rescue squad were cutting her apart, why, I do not know, taking out her ovaries, her stomach, and putting each organ in a plastic bag. We all stood around her, and some of us took pictures, and some of us felt sad after we took pictures because what right did we have, and would we have done the same thing if she were a young human girl and would we have been able to use the word beautiful in any recollection of the event?
