make a kalusha in five easy steps!

Kelli and Cole, summer 2009, last time I went home to Michigan. We drove to the Copper Country that day. Hadn't gotten these photos developed until now.

Kelli and I were sort of weird children. One of my favorite things she did when she was young was make these things she called, "Kalushas." To make a Kalusha, you will need the following supplies:
water
toilet paper
marker

Make a Kalusha in five easy steps!
1. Put water in a container.
2. Put toilet paper in water so it gets soggy.
3. Put marker in the water until the color bleeds out onto the toilet paper.
4. Put cap on container and put on shelf.
5. Bask in the glory of your beautiful Kalusha.

They are especially beautiful in multiples, scattered like prizes throughout an entire house. If you enjoy Kalushas, you may also enjoy tie dying paper towels with food coloring, but only at Libby's house, not at your own, because her paper towels are nicer and softer and your parents are probably too poor to afford nice paper towels and while you're there you may as well eat one of her bagels because they are better, too, because her family has a toaster oven.
